Specsavers in Ludlow was shortlisted for a prestigious national award which celebrates excellence in eyecare.
The store was amongst a handful of its counterparts to be shortlisted for the 2014 Specsavers Excellence in the Community award, which recognises those stores which have shown a commitment to their communities.
‘It’s wonderful to have been shortlisted for this award,’ said Nicola Aubrey, store director. ‘We believe it’s really important for local businesses to be involved in the community, and the whole team shows real passion when getting involved in activities that benefit the town and the surrounding area.
‘Unfortunately, we didn’t win the award, but just being nominated demonstrates the commitment we have to our community.’
The glamorous awards ceremony took place on Saturday 6 December at Birmingham’s ICC. A total of eight awards were presented by comedian Bradley Walsh on the evening, with several stores competing for each.
