More than a thousand pairs of pre-loved specs have been donated by a Tring opticians to those with eyecare needs overseas.
Specsavers in Dolphin Square donated the eyewear to Tring Lions Club following a year-long collection drive in store. They will now be sent on to various projects supporting eyecare services overseas, including Medico France and the Inside Out Trust.
A word from the store
Bindi Shah, the store’s co-owner and director, said: ‘We always encourage customers purchasing a new pair of specs to consider donating their old pair to this special cause. ‘It’s a simple gesture but it can make a real difference in the lives of people less fortunate than we are here in the UK.
‘The Lions Club here in Tring and those across the country do fantastic work in getting the frames to those who need them most.
‘While we have just handed over 1,000 frames, your donations will be just as welcome in store tomorrow.’
