A member of the team from Specsavers Ludlow will be chopping off all her locks on Saturday 27 July to donate to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs to children who’ve lost their hair through cancer and other illnesses.
Julia Bailey, an optical assistant from Specsavers on the Bull Ring, will be having her hair cut by Buck and Bear Barbershop. She is hoping to donate up to 16 inches as well as raise money for Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue through sponsorship.
‘When I started reading about the Little Princess Trust, I was keen to help them,’ says Julia. ‘The minimum the charity asks for is seven inches so I should be able to donate more than double that and it’s great that Buck and Bear are able to come in and perform the chop.’
‘I’ve been volunteering at Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue for quite some time now and believe the charity makes a huge difference to the lives of stray and abandoned dogs,’ continues Julia. ‘I wanted to make a difference myself by raising money to support them. I’m a bit nervous but know it’s for a good cause so it will be worth it. I’ve raised £165 so far and would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has sponsored me.’
A word from the store director
‘Everyone is really proud of what Julia is doing for the Little Princess Trust as well as her additional fundraising,’ says store director, Nicola Aubrey. ‘I’ve also had my hair cut to be donated so know how Julia is feeling but we’re all behind her.’
You can sponsor Julia by popping into the store at 33 Bull Ring, Ludlow, SY8 1AA, or visiting her fundraising page.
