Locals eye up contact lenses at open clinic day
Customers at Specsavers in Gloucester have benefitted from a dedicated clinic and advice from staff about the benefits of wearing contact lenses, including the chance to try contacts for free.
Staff at Specsavers in Eastgate Shopping Centre held a contact lens Big Fit Day to tell customers about the advantages of wearing lenses as an alternative to specs. Customers struggling with their contact lenses were offered walk-in appointments with advice and support, while the dedicated clinic with open appointments engaged those that wanted to try them out for the first time. They also benefitted from a talk by optometrist and store director Steven Crawford, who was on hand to give expert advice.
‘The day was a great success,’ said Steven. ‘We were kept very busy, 19 people took advantage of the open clinics and we were able to offer all customers tailored advice.
‘There are lots of misconceptions surrounding contact lenses, and people often avoid them thinking that they are uncomfortable or a hassle, but we wanted to dispel these fears and provide support for those wanting to try them out. With our offer of a free month’s worth of contacts to try out, it was a perfect opportunity for customers to get comfortable with their lenses and make sure they’re right for them. Hopefully, we showed our customers that contacts don’t need to be daunting and are a great addition for specs wearers perhaps looking for more flexibility.’
Monthly disposable lenses start from just £5 a month and daily contact lenses from just £16 for a month’s supply. You can also enjoy one pair of monthly lenses or five pairs of daily disposables free to be sure that contacts are right for you before making a purchase.
