Local optician steps in to save festival
Specsavers in Long Eaton has teamed up with sister-stores in Beeston, Ilkeston and Eastwood to fund the popular Hemlock Happening festival and ensure that it goes ahead this summer.
Great event for all the family
Alongside donations from other local businesses, the Specsavers stores donated £5,200, which will cover the costs of a big-top tent hosting the main stage and bar.
Store director Krishnar Parmar said: ‘When we heard the festival needed support, we stepped in to offer sponsorship. It’s a great event for all the family, and ensuring the much-loved event continues each year is important for the community.’
Fairground rides and food
The festival will include live music, performances from local schools, opportunities to try out various sports, arts and crafts with interactive workshops as well as fairground rides and food stalls. The event will conclude with a fabulous fireworks finale.
