Ryde opticians announce charity partner
Ryde Specsavers opticians has pledged to raise vital funds for a local charity which trains assistance dogs to enhance the independence of disabled young people and children living on the Isle of Wight.
Specsavers, located at 30 High Street, has announced that Ability Dogs 4 Young People will be its chosen charity for 2015. The charity trains ability dogs to help with physical and mental disabilities, including cerebral palsy, autism and epilepsy.
Tim Kidd, director of Specsavers in Ryde, says: ‘As a longstanding business serving our local community, we feel it is important to make a commitment to a local charity.
‘Our customers have been great at helping us raise money in the past, and I’d like to ask them to continue to show their support over the next 12 months by coming into the store and getting involved in our fundraising activities.’
The store will undertake a series of fundraising days over the next 12 months to raise money for the charity and will also be providing minor glasses repairs in return for donations.
