Local opticians in Ripon brew up to support cancer charity
Specsavers Ripon is fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support by hosting a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event for their customers.
The Specsavers store on Fishergate in town will host the coffee morning on Friday 25 September to collect donations for the cancer charity. The team will have a variety of homemade cakes and refreshments on offer from 11am until 2pm in exchange for donations in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
A word from the director
Caroline Sullivan, store director at Specsavers in Ripon, said: ‘We all know someone who has been affected by cancer so it’s important to support charities that do such fantastic work to help sufferers and their families. We hope our coffee morning will be well supported by the local community to help us raise as much money as possible for Macmillan.’
Each year Macmillan Cancer Support invites employers, volunteers, families and friends across the UK to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in September. The event helps to fund medical, emotional, practical and financial support to cancer sufferers and their families. Last year’s event raised more than £215million for the charity.
