Local opticians helps youngsters focus on eye health
Pupils at Noblehill Primary School now know more about vision and eyecare, thanks to Specsavers in Dumfries.
The importance of eyecare
Susie Clark, who works as a pre-registration optometrist in the store, visited the school to talk to youngsters about the importance of regular eye health checks, the biology of the eye and how vision works.
Pupils got the chance to try some optics equipment and to ask questions about how to look after their eyesight.
A word from our store director
Jill Dickson, store director at Specsavers in Dumfries, said: ‘It’s so important that we make young people aware of the need for regular eye health checks and that they learn about their eyes and how to look after them.
‘Going for an eye health check up at your local Specsavers store once every two years is essential. The condition of your eyes and your vision can point to other health issues that may be difficult to diagnose.
‘Susie really enjoyed the visit and the young people were very engaged and interested throughout the presentation.’
