Local opticians celebrate decennial
A LOCAL opticians in Leighton Buzzard is gearing up for a day of fun and festivities as it celebrates its ten year anniversary.
On Saturday 20 September, Specsavers, located at 18 Waterborne Walk, will be thanking local residents and customers for their support with a day of entertainment and delicious treats.
Staff will be joining the birthday fun by laying on cheese, wine and other treats for customers and local residents. Crowd favourites and the first and only shopping trolley dance crew, Granny Turismo, will also be present on the day making surprise appearances to entertain passers-by. Locals will also be invited to get involved in the action while doing their part to support Freddie Gray, a local boy who suffers from cerebral palsy by entering the store’s special birthday raffle with great prizes on offer.
The winner of the raffle will be awarded with a designer glasses voucher worth £120 while the second placed entrant will win themselves a delicious meal for two at the Methi Indian worth £30. The third placed runner up will win a £20 voucher for a haircut at local hair salon ‘Touch of Class’. All proceeds from the Raffle will be used to provide two year old Freddie with practical support, mobility aids and any necessary equipment.
Ekta Kotecha, store director of Leighton Buzzard Specsavers says: ‘Celebrating our 10th birthday is a fantastic achievement – I honestly can’t believe we have been serving Leighton Buzzard residents for a decade.
‘We want to be able to celebrate this great occasion with the people that have made it possible and we urge everyone in the community to come on down and get involved in the fun and maybe win themselves a great prize in the process! We hope to serve this vibrant community for many more years which is why we are urging everyone to give their all to support our little local hero Freddie.’
Following its tenth anniversary the store will be undertaking a series of fundraising initiatives over the coming months to help local causes.
