Big hearted staff and customers at an opticians in Dumfries have baked up a storm for Dumfries and Galloway Blood Bikes - and raised more than £200.
The Specsavers store in Loreburne Shopping Centre hosted a bake sale for the charity – which delivers essential blood and urgent medical supplies.
Store director Jill Dickson explains: ‘Blood Bikes is a vital resource and its volunteers, across Dumfries and beyond, carry out fantastic work.
‘We would like to say a big thank you to all customers who donated to the bake sale. We’re very proud to be raising money for the cause.’
Since the bake sale, the store has also collected £90 in customer donations and has pledged to continue to raise money for the cause for the remainder of the year and to match the total amount collected.
Dumfries and Galloway Blood Bikes is run by volunteers across South West Scotland and provides out of hours transport between hospitals and healthcare sites. It is provided free of charge and is dependent upon charitable donations.
