Local businesses unite to save community concert
Businesses across Derby have joined together in supporting the City Council to fund the much-loved Hannells Darley Park Concert, which will take place on Sunday 3 September.
Specsavers in Derby was among the local businesses who rallied to re-instate the Derby concert, which has been primarily sponsored by Hannells Estate Agents. The concert has been part of the Derby summer events calendar for more than 25 years.
Derby store director, Uan Gohil, said: ‘We’re delighted to be able to contribute to this fantastic event. Derby has always had a thriving and diverse range of events which show just how special our city is.
‘This year is also special because it marks Derby’s 40th anniversary as a city. We’re hoping that our input will help create a memorable occasion.’
Concert organisers are hoping to attract up to 30,000 people with free under-16s entry (ticket required), £2.50 adult tickets in advance and £5 on the day and the return of the Sinfonia Viva orchestra of the East Midlands.
Other sponsors contributing towards the return of the event include Flint Bishop Solicitors, HUUB, Mortgage Advice Bureau, PKF Cooper Parry and Stratstone BMW Derby.
Tickets can be purchased from Derby LIVE on 01332 255800, online at derbylive.co.uk, or be booked in person at the Sales and Information Centre, Assembly Rooms, Market Place, Derby.
