An opticians in Brighton has raised vital funds for Blind Veterans UK by abseiling down the Grand Hotel.

Andrew Wallbank and Maggie Knapp from Specsavers in Brighton put their fears aside and abseiled down the hotel to raise over £660. Store director, Andrew Wallbank said: ‘We’re very happy to have raised such a significant amount for Blind Veterans UK.

‘The charity helps so many veterans who have lost their sight. We’re very grateful to our Brighton community for helping us make a difference.’

Blind Veterans UK

Blind Veterans UK was founded in 1915 and offers support, training and rehabilitation to blind and vision-impaired ex-Service men and women. The charity’s mission is to ensure that all blind veterans have access to the finest quality services to help them discover life beyond sight loss.
