Specsavers Leamington is throwing its weight behind a fundraising effort to help a group of local hospices.
The team will be kicking things off with a charity day in store on Tuesday 4 February to raise money for Myton Hospices, the charity they will be supporting throughout 2020. The store will be decorated with balloons and goody bags handed out to customers, while sweet treats will be available to buy in return for a donation.
Then, until the end of February, the team will be running a raffle to win a pair of single vision designer glasses. Tickets are now available to buy for £1 each or £1.50 for two. For younger customers, children will be able to enter a superhero-themed colouring competition with a sweet hamper up for grabs. Templates can be picked up from the store with all entries needing to be returned by Saturday 29 February before the winner is announced.
A word from the store director
‘Some members of the team have had direct experience of Myton Hospices as they’ve cared for loves ones, so it was a charity we were keen to support for the year,’ said Specsavers Leamington store director, Lena Aggarwal. ‘We hope the fundraising day will help kickstart our efforts and are looking forward to welcoming customers on the day, do please come down if you can.’
The three Myton Hospices in Rugby, Coventry and Warwick focus on enhancing life when cure is no longer an option. Their work centres on patient wellbeing and involving them in decisions about their care, giving patients more quality time with their loved ones. In 2020, they will have to raise £9.2million to continue providing care.
