Dementia Friends is an Alzheimer’s Society initiative, to help people develop an understanding of dementia and turn it into action to support customers and employees who are affected by the condition.
The team have completed a Dementia awareness programme. In doing so, they have become recognised as a Dementia Friends, with a badge to wear on their uniforms to indicate their increased level of dementia awareness to their customers.
A word from the store director
Mark Willis, store director at the Kings Lynn stores, says: ‘We decided to do the training to help all of our team to better understand how dementia can affect people so that we can give them a better service.
At Specsavers we aim to meet all the needs of our customers and I feel the training session has hugely helped team members give those who suffer appropriate service.’
