Specsavers opticians in Newtownards has turned August into kids’ month in store, with lots of fun for all little visitors and a focus on fundraising for a local children’s charity.
Throughout the month of August, all staff at the Newtownards Specsavers on High Street will be digging deep for Cash for Kids in Northern Ireland, a charity run by local radio station, Downtown Radio/Cool FM, which aids many charities, initiatives and organisations dedicated to helping disadvantaged children across the country.
Adding a little sparkle
Throughout the final month of the school holidays, the little customers who come into the store will have the chance to show off their colouring-in skills and enter their artwork into a prize draw which could give them a chance to win a Disney or Marvel prize with a goodie bag to take home.
Leigh Nelson, Specsavers Newtownards store director said: ‘Kids’ month will be a chance for the little ones to come in during the last days of their summer holidays to get their eyes checked before the start of the new school year. It is important they have a full check before returning to all their reading and writing! We’re also delighted to be fundraising for local charity, Cash for Kids. They make such a difference to local children through all their activities and initiatives, so we hope our customers will contribute whatever they can to the buckets that will be dotted around the store.’
Disney in the Frame
The kids’ month also highlights the fantastic range of frames recently launched by Specsavers and The Walt Disney Company UK, which includes classic characters such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse. For action-loving little ones, the Marvel range features favourites from the hit movie The Avengers, as well as friendly neighbourhood super hero, Spider-Man. At Specsavers, all under-16s get a free NHS eye test, and Specsavers Newtownards is also offering parents a £5 eye test alongside their children, with a redeemable voucher in store.
