Specsavers Chatham has brightened local students at night as they walk to and from school by donating high visibility vests.

Bright nights

The store, located on 215 High Street, gave 300 vests to children at English Martyrs School, Chatham New Road Primary School & Nursery, Kingfisher Primary School, St Luke’s Pre-School and Cuxton Community School.

Yve Dixon, corporate and PR supervisor at the store went along to the schools to promote safety at night ahead of Road Safety Week, an initiative by the charity Brake.

Winter confidence

Specsavers store director, David Moorman says: ‘As it's so dark due to winter approaching, parents need to feel at ease when they're children are walking to and from school.

'We think it's important to provide them with these high visibility vests so that they're being as safe as possible in the evenings.'
