Following a donation of high-visibility vests to Timbertree Academy, the team at Halesowen Specsavers have donated a further 100 vests to youngsters at Old Hill Primary School, who will use them on their walks to the local swimming baths.

Shahid Parvez, store director, said: ‘Now that the nights have drawn in, it’s really important that we do what we can to ensure children are safe when near the roads. One way of doing that is to help them stay visible to drivers, so we’re really proud to be donating another 100 vests to children at Old Hill Primary who will use them on their walks to the swimming baths.

‘We recently gave 100 hi-vis vests to Timbertree Academy during Road Safety Week, which the youngsters have been using on their way to school.’

Specsavers is a co-sponsor of Road Safety Week, an annual event organised by Brake which aims to raise awareness of life-saving road safety messages.
