A Gary Barlow super fan’s wish has been granted after she was presented with a giant poster of the Take That frontman.
Carol Howard, who is 47 and lives in Coventry, had seen the artwork in the Kenilworth store and was so taken by it that she approached staff to see if they would be happy to give it to her. Since 2006 Carol has spent almost £30,000 on going to see Gary live and has a tattoo of his real signature.
Gary was unveiled as the face of Osiris Eyewear, available exclusively at Specsavers, earlier this year and his images have appeared on a variety of marketing materials in stores across the country.
'over the moon'
‘I’m over the moon that I get to take Gary home with me,’ said Carol. ‘I already have a cardboard cut out which lives in my bedroom so this will be a great addition. I’ve been up on stage with him in concert in Manchester where he sang to me and I’m also booked to go and see him 20 times as part of Take That’s UK and European tour later this year. You could say I’m obsessed!’
‘When we heard about Carol’s request and just how much of a fan she is, we were keen to make it happen,’ said store director Ambreena Bhatti. ‘The new Osiris frames have been selling really well and I’m sure some of the that is because of the Barlow effect. We hope he will be very happy in his new home.’
