Helping those affected by tragedy
Big-hearted staff and customers at Specsavers in Irvine took time out to raise money to provide help and support to individuals and families affected by two tragic events.
The team at the store in the Rivergate Shopping Centre raised money for the We Love MCR charity following the terror attack at Manchester Arena on 12 June.
Staff also encouraged customers to donate to a fund for people affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.
Together, the charity appeals raised a combined £456 for the two causes, and store director Gillian Syme said she is overwhelmed by the generosity of customers.
A word from our store director
Gillian said: ‘In the aftermath of these tragedies, we felt strongly that we should do something to help those affected.
‘We’re so proud to have raised such a fantastic amount and we hope that it will help to provide support for people whose lives have been changed irrevocably by these horrific events.
‘We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated. It’s very much appreciated.’
