Irvine opticians gets RED-dy to fundraise for a good cause
Specsavers in Irvine is joining Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief.
Staff at the store, located in the Rivergate Shopping Centre, will be taking part in fun activities to encourage customers to donate to the cause – and all money raised will help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both in the UK and across Africa.
On Saturday 18 March, staff will be dressing up in their silliest red costumes and wearing crazy specs to attract donations. Customers will also get the chance to take part in competitions and win Red Nose Day-themed prizes.
A word from our store director
Specsavers Irvine director Gill Syme said: ‘Everyone is very excited about the Comic Relief activities, and we’re all really looking forward to getting customers involved in the fundraising.
‘We hope that customers will pop into the store to support the cause.’
Comedy waving hand glasses, priced just £2, are available in store now. All money raised from sales of the specs will be donated to Comic Relief. The glasses come in adult and children’s sizes.
Customers are also being encouraged to take a waving selfie while wearing the glasses and share it on social media using the hashtag #giveusawave.
