Inverness opticians brighten up the High Street for Highland Hospice
Specsavers Inverness hosted a sunny fundraiser for the Highland Hospice recently when it participated in #wearyellow day for the hospice’s 'Project Build Appeal' fundraising week.
Andy Carr, Specsavers store director in Inverness, comments on the stores fundraising efforts ‘We are so proud to show our support for the Project Build Appeal as the Highland Hospice help so many people in our local community.
‘I’d like to thank the store team for their hard work and everyone who visited us on the day - your contributions were greatly appreciated.’
The Specsavers store team dressed in yellow, decorated the store with sunflowers and roped in the support of a giant bumble bee to host a ‘sunshine tombola’ filled with yellow prizes. The high street opticians also held a bake sale with a selection of homemade treats to tempt sweet toothed locals as well as attracting a queue of youngsters to its face painting stall.
With all activities held on the day and support from the community, Specsavers Inverness raised £444 for Highland Hospice Project Build Appeal. This appeal aims to raise £4.5 million which is needed to rebuild the Highland Hospice inpatient unit.
