In the frame for new store

30 April, 2015

Specsavers in Oxford has moved to a new location with a whole host of new equipment and facilities.

Having been situated in the Westgate Shopping Centre for ten years, the store has relocated to 33 Queen Street.

Complete with six test rooms and a dedicated hearing area with a soundproof hearing booth, the new store is spread across two levels. The move also sees the team grow, with seven additional staff employed from the local area.

‘We’re all really excited to have moved into our new store,’ said store director Abby Jobson. ‘We’d outgrown our old premises so it’s great to have more space and start welcoming customers through the doors. With a whole host of new equipment and services available, the new store will allow us to provide the very best eyecare to local people.

‘To help celebrate the move we will also be holding a circus themed party day, so keep your eyes peeled for further details and a date which will be announced soon.’

The new store boasts state-of-the-art optical equipment including a digital retinal camera which photographs the back of the eye (included at no extra cost as part of the standard pre-test eye examination service), alongside interactive waiting areas, a larger specs dispensing area and on-site laboratory. The store also uses the latest software in optical technology, to link with the store’s tablet computers, making the process of dispensing glasses smoother and quicker.

The store will be open 8.30am – 6.30pm Monday – Saturday, with later opening until 7.30pm on a Thursday. Sunday opening is 10am – 6pm.
