Hyde store shows support for local clubs
Hyde Specsavers has supported its community through sponsorships and donations to local sports clubs and organisations.
Fundraising football fans
Staff were keen to give their backing to Hyde United Football Club, particularly since the news broke that the club was being bought by their supporters and fans.
By providing financial sponsorship to Hyde United Football Club, Specsavers is helping fund the upkeep of the grounds and ultimately the continued existence of this cherished club. Staff also donated rain ponchos for the spectators to use during matches.
Glossop Gymnastics fun day
Glossop Gymnastics team has also received sponsorship from Hyde Specsavers, whose staff took part in their recent fun day, which included holding a raffle and providing leaflets on the importance of eyecare.
Ann Tracey, the head coach of Glossop Gymnastics team said; ‘The involvement from the team at Specsavers Hyde has been invaluable, and enabled us to order new equipment which will help us offer the best service we can to the budding gymnasts in the community.’
Matthew Thornton, store director of Specsavers Hyde, said; ‘Hyde United are an asset to this community, and now that they have been bought over by the fans we were enthusiastic about helping this new era begin successfully. Our sponsorship will help make this transition a more seamless one for the Club and for the fans. Not to mention the ponchos - a necessity with our unpredictable summer weather!
‘My daughter is a keen gymnast, so I know first-hand how much work the Glossop Gymnastics team are adding to the community, and the team at Specsavers are honoured to provide any assistance we can to help them continue this great work.’
