Opticians sets sights on summer fundraising
Come rain or shine, Specsavers Hucknall will be celebrating the great British summer with a spec-tacular beach-themed fun day on Friday 31 July, to raise funds for a good cause.
The team will be raising money for Guide Dogs and swapping their uniforms for shorts and t-shirts as they spend the day working among palm trees in store.
Special guests to raise awareness of Guide Dogs
There will be some very special guests visiting the store to meet customers and raise awareness of the charity. Guide Dog puppy walkers, Rob and Angie Jackson will be popping by with a puppy and retired guide dog, Benson, from 10am-11.30am, and Emma Bullin and her guide dog, Richie, will join the fun from 1pm-3pm.
In addition, caricature and portrait artist ‘Darsy’ will be at the store between 11am and 1pm, drawing funny pictures of customers in return for a donation to Guide Dogs. There will also be a chance to enter a prize draw to win a pair of designer sunglasses.
‘So far this summer has been typically British, we’ve seen everything from record-breaking temperatures to grey skies and rain but we’ll be celebrating whatever the weather,’ said Janet Archer, store director. ‘It’s a great opportunity for us to work with local Guide Dogs volunteers and raise awareness of the fantastic work the charity does, as well as raising much needed funds.’
