Best foot forward for eye hospital
Staff walked the 13 miles from the store to London Bridge in aid of the Moorfields Eye Charity.
Rising funds to taking research forward
Ranna Rai, store director at Specsavers in Hounslow, says: ‘The charity supports the pioneering work of Moorfields Eye Hospital and its research partner, the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, to provide the best possible care for its patients and educate the researchers and clinicians of the future.
‘We have also set up a partnership with the hospital whereby their graduate optometrists are sent to our store for training and development, and from their experiences I know how important charitable donations are.
‘The work that is carried out at the hospital would not be possible without third party fundraising like this, and it is for that reason that we want to play a part in helping take ophthalmology research forward.
‘We have raised an incredible £901 and would like to thank those who have donated and invite customers to make a donation via our Just Giving page.’
