Hospice boosted by generous donation
Specsavers in Burnham-on-Sea has raised more than £700 for Children’s Hospice South West by selling sweet treats to customers.
Visitors have been able to pick up a bag of sweets in return for a £1 donation to the charity, which offers specialist care for children with life-limiting illnesses, as well as proving support for their families.
'We’re pleased to have raised so much money for Children’s Hospice South West,’ said store director, Rama Venkat. ‘The hospice and its staff play a vital role in the lives of so many families, and we’re delighted to have the opportunity to support it.’
Children’s Hospice South West, established in 1991, operates three hospices in North Devon, North Somerset and Cornwall and provides respite and short breaks, emergency care, palliative care and end of life care for sick children.
Customer thank you
Rama added: ‘I’d like to say thank you to all of our customers for their help in raising £700 for Children’s Hospice South West and encourage them to continue to support the fantastic work this charity does.’
