Home visit services extended in Dundee
Home visit services for people who are housebound have been extended by Specsavers.
Comprehensive eyecare service at home
Specsavers Healthcall provides a comprehensive eyecare service to those in the Tayside, Angus, Fife and Perthshire areas who cannot visit their local store due to a physical or mental health disability.
The service, which is available to those who live in their own homes or in care homes, includes NHS-funded eye examinations, a choice of fashionable frames, the dispensing of glasses and a comprehensive aftercare service.
Jamie Buchan, store director at Specsavers in Dundee, said: ‘As we get older, our eyes go through various changes so it is vital that we have regular examinations in order to ensure these changes are picked up early to maintain healthy eyes.
‘Some of these changes are part of the normal ageing process but there is also an increased risk of developing abnormal conditions as we grow older. It is therefore very important that less mobile people still have access to our services.’
A qualified optician will visit customers with a portable eye testing kit and a range of 180 glasses to choose from. Customers can also take advantage of the same offers which are available in Specsavers stores.
For eye examinations at home call 0800 198 1134.
Home visit hearing service
Specsavers also provides a hearing service, enabling locals to have a full hearing check by a qualified audiologist in the comfort of their home. To discuss your hearing needs, available options and prices, call the home visit team at Specsavers in Dundee on 01382 204 040.
Jamie added: ‘If you are housebound or unable to leave the home unaccompanied and feel you need a routine eye or hearing examination or are having problems with your vision or hearing, you may qualify for our Heathcall service so get in touch to find out more.’
