Staff at Specsavers Opticians in Victoria have been championing road safety by donating 50 high-visibility vests to a local school.
Store directors Kam Khambay and Tom Harvey gave the high-visibility vests to parents at St Barnabas' CE Primary School in Pimlico when they gave a talk about the importance of children’s eye tests.
Eye tests for children
‘I spoke to the parents about when they should bring a child in for their first eye test and the warning signs of vision problems they need to look out for, such as rubbing their eyes frequently or sitting too close to the TV.
‘Specsavers is also a big supporter of road safety, whether that’s encouraging drivers to have regular eye tests or making sure children are visible on the roads, so I was pleased to be able to give out 50 children’s high-visibility vests.
‘It’s really important that children can be seen clearly when they are out and about on the roads, especially if they are walking to or from school when it’s dark.’
