Specsavers Kings Lynn and Specsavers Kings Lynn Hardwick are delighted to announce that they can now offer enhanced eye health checks thanks to some new high tech equipment in store.
Both stores now have an optical coherence tomography (OCT) machine available for customers. And the enhanced checks cost just £10 in addition to the cost of a standard eye test.
Transforming eye health
The machine is part of a drive by Specsavers to completely transform eye health by making hospital standard equipment available to local people where they live.
An OCT scan allows the Specsavers stores in Norfolk Street and at Sainsburys Hardwick to look at the eye in more detail than was possible before, which could help detect the early signs of glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration. It is recommended for everyone over the age of 40 – although you can be scanned at any age.
A word from the ophthalmic director
Gurvinder Tatra, ophthalmic director at the two Specsavers stores in Kings Lynn, said: ‘We are delighted to have this machine available for our customers, as it allows us to see the eye in more detail than ever before.
‘Getting an enhanced eye health check could actually be lifesaving, not just sight saving. So why not book an eye test today and take advantage of the most detailed eye health check in town at the same time.’
