Pupils at Grange Primary School will be visible this winter thanks to the free donation of high visibility jackets from Specsavers Scunthorpe.

The store has donated the vests to Grange Primary School after launching a campaign to increase the safety of local children by making it easier for motorists to spot them when their activities take them out into the community.

Andrew Mortimer, Dispensing Director at Specsavers Scunthorpe, says: ‘We wanted to help increase the safety of children at Grange Primary School and spread the message around the importance of being clearly visible on the roads and elsewhere.

‘As part of this initiative, we are also hoping to raise awareness of free glasses and eye tests that are available to under 16-year-olds. It is important to make sure that children have regular eye tests as an undetected problem could lead to something more severe in the long term.’
