Specsavers in Hessle turned pink on Tuesday 14 October to raise vital funds for Breast Cancer Care.

In aid of the charity, the team at Hessle Specsavers embraced the colour pink as the theme for a day of fundraising. The team also held an in-store bake sale, raising £76 for the cause.

Kay Weaver, store director at Specsavers in Hessle, commented: ‘The charity provides invaluable support to victims of the disease so we were thrilled to support them by raising vital funds.

‘Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer and we’d like to thank our customers who came into store yesterday to support our fundraising efforts.’

About Breast Cancer Care
Breast Cancer Care offers emotional and practical support to people affected by the disease, campaigns for improvement in standards of care and promotes the importance of early detection. Someone is diagnosed with breast cancer every ten minutes in the UK, and one in eight British women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Thanks to an increased awareness and understanding of the disease, 85 per cent of people will now survive breast cancer beyond five years.
