Specsavers in Hereford is calling for local bakers to show off their culinary talents

Calling all budding Mary Berrys! Specsavers in Hereford is holding a charity bake off challenge on Tuesday 2 August to raise money for the Little Princess Trust.

Baking and bingo

The store is organising the event which will take place at The Welsh Club on Hinton Road starting at 7pm. There’s no need to pre-register, all you need to do is turn up on the night with your baked items. Entry to the event is £3 per person, which includes being able to sample the sweet treats after they’ve been judged, and then it will cost £1 for each cake, batch of biscuits, or muffins you want to enter.  A bingo night will round off the evening.

‘I’m sure there are lots of talented bakers in Hereford so why not put your baking skills to the test and help us raise some money at the same time?’ said store director Nialle Smith. ‘There will be prizes for a judges’ and people’s choice winner. This event is part of our ongoing fundraising for the Little Princess Trust which has so far seen us raise more than £1,000. We are aiming to raise £5,500 by September so please come along and help us reach our target.’
