Hearing check in Antrim
A special Specsavers Hear Care van will be touring the Antrim area on Friday 17th June and the public from over 18 years old are encouraged to call in and get their hearing tested. No appointment is necessary, its first stop will be Main Street, Antrim from 10am-1pm, then Antrim Health Centre from 2-4pm.
Hear Care specialist Ita Armour will be carrying out the tests with assistance from Davin Quinn and Susan O’Neill who will provide lots of information about Specsavers’ hearing department.
Three minute screening
The new mobile hearing van is designed to make it really easy for people to take the first step in tackling hearing loss. The three-minute screening lets customers know whether they would benefit from a full hearing test which takes an hour. Screenings are free of charge but Specsavers are encouraging customers to make a small donation which will go towards the Antrim store’s adopted charity Cash for Kids NI.
Regular hearing checks recommended
Store director, Davin Quinn, says, ‘Untreated hearing loss can affect every aspect of life and lead to depression and social isolation which is why early diagnosis is key. Regular hearing checks should be part of everyone’s healthcare routine and at Specsavers we recommend that people over the age of 55 get a hearing test every two years.’
