Specsavers Hearing Centres made its inaugural appearance at the BBC Gardeners’ World Live show, and had gardening expert Nigel Colborn join the stand.

With a footfall of over 100,000, the exhibition gave the opportunity for people of all ages to have their hearing checked, ask for advice on hearing loss and showcase the newly designed hearing booth.

Gardening ambassador

Specsavers ambassador and long-time hearing aids user Nigel was present on the stand throughout the Saturday of the show, not only sharing his experiences with hearing loss, but giving advice and tips on gardening.

Nigel says: ‘I’ve been a visitor of Gardeners’ World Live numerous times, however it has been a few years since my last appearance, so it was great to be back at the show.

The interest in Specsavers’ stand was brilliant; we had people of all ages wanting to take a hearing test and the booth was drawing a lot of attention. It is great to be able to engage people and let them know just how crucial your hearing is to enjoying the outdoors.’

With the newly refurbished hearing booth, the team carried out nearly 200 hearing screenings on show visitors, as well as over 250 surveys on the subject of hearing loss.

Diverse audience

The stand received visitors from across the country, from Cornwall to Aberdeen. Many were interested in finding out more on Specsavers hearing services, and the booth created its usual excitement for hearing tests.

Specsavers Hearing Centres next exhibition will be at the London 50+ Show, from 10-12 July at the Olympia Grand.
