It was a glorious day of sunshine for the one hundred competitors that took part in the recent Specsavers backed Castle Hume Golf Club’s bonanza day competition.

Golfers came from the Fermanagh, Sligo and Cavan area to play at the Bank Holiday tournament which was open to both ladies and men.

Successful hearcare screenings

The event was attended by Enniskillen Specsavers store director and optometrist Ronan Rice as well as hearcare staff from the store who were present throughout the day in the Specsavers hearcare bus to screen competitors and check their hearing.

Lady Captain, Wilma Connor said, ‘We were delighted to have the backing of Specsavers Hearcare in Enniskillen for what was a fabulous event at Castle Hume. The day started with blue sky and not a cloud in sight – a rare thing for us living in the west of the province!

‘The Specsavers hearcare bus, located in front of club house was utilised by many of the golfers with some having good hearing and others not so good.’

Attracted golfers from the South-West region

‘Competitors travelled from golf clubs at Enniskillen, Blacklion, Newtownstewart, Clogher Valley and Cavan to enjoy super playing conditions due to excellent weather.’

Winners achieved high scores and were presented with their prizes by Ronan Rice and Wilma Connor.

Thanks to Ronan and the Specsavers Enniskillen team

‘It was an excellent event all round and I would like to thank Ronan Rice, Nikita and the team at Specsavers in Enniskillen who sponsored the competition. Also to everyone who took part and supported the event in any way. We look forward to an even bigger and better event next year.’ said Wilma Connor.
