Head chef eyes up new role
Specs wearers visiting Abingdon Specsavers might have noticed a new friendly face greeting them over the past few months.
Setting sights on a new challenge
Mathias Rouvray, a former head chef, has set his sights on a new career path, delivering excellent eye care to the customers of Specsavers in Abbey Shopping Centre as an optical assistant.
Focusing on a second career
Mathias has worked across France, USA and the UK for the past twenty years managing and leading restaurants but is now embracing a new challenge. ‘There is a brilliant team in-store and they’ve built a fantastic reputation in the community since opening the doors 24 years ago,’ said Mathias.
‘I am really keen to establish my second career and am honoured to do it with one of the best optical brands in the country.
‘I’ve got a young family and was looking for a role that was going to be more flexible around my lifestyle and this was perfect.’
A word from the store director
Store director Atul Vadgama is delighted to have another talented team member on board: ‘Mathias brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in leadership and is a great asset to the team. We look forward to watching him grow in his role.’
