Harrow-born author Tom Fletcher has won two awards for book sales at the Specsavers Bestseller Awards in London.
Tom, who is better known for being in the band McFly, won two silver awards for sales in excess of a quarter of a million copies in the UK at the awards in January.
Popular with children
One was for his solo effort, The Christmasaurus, while the other was for his collaboration with fellow McFly alumni Dougie Poynter, The Dinosaur That Pooped A Plane. Both books are popular with children.
The Specsavers Bestseller Awards are powered by Nielsen Book, the official recorder of book sales in the UK, and cover book sales throughout the 21st century.
A word from the store director
Adam Shackle, director at the Specsavers stores in Harrow and Wealdstone said: ‘We would like to congratulate Tom on his win. It is brilliant to see a local person achieve such success, both as a musician and now an author.
‘I could not help but notice that Tom often sports a stylish pair of spectacles. We think we have plenty of styles that he would love to add to his collection, and would love to see him in either of our stores soon.
‘We have plenty of popular ranges available to suit every face – and you might even say that they are McFly-ing off the shelves. So why not come and see us today.’
