The team at Specsavers Harborne have pledged to raise funds for Sunny Days Children’s Fund, a charity which helps to bring sunshine and smiles into the lives of children in need.
The proceeds will be going to Lola-Mae, a seven-year-old girl who has been diagnosed with a Langerhans’ cell histiocytosis (LCH) tumour, which is a very rare form of cancer. Lola is currently undergoing chemotherapy and steroid treatment, meaning that she spends lengthy periods of time in hospital.
The money raised by the store will be going towards the purchase of a laptop, enabling Lola to stay up to date with her school work while undergoing treatment.
A word from the store director
Store director, Amit Madlani, said: ‘We would really love the Harborne community to help us in our pledge to help Lola-Mae. We want her to be able to lead a normal life as possible and continue with her school work while she receives treatment. She is so young, and as you can understand, this is a very hard time for her, so we want to help with anything that will make her life easier.’
Amit added: ‘Any donation is greatly appreciated and no amount is too small. Please pop in and help us support Sunny Days Children’s Fund and all the amazing work they do!’
