Happy birthday Guildford
Happy birthday Specsavers in Guildford!
21 years' service to the Guildford community
Renowned for its professionalism in eye and hearing health, the store at Guildford was thrilled to thank its customers for their ongoing support with a weekend of fun in May.
Special VIPs popped by
Deputy Mayor, Councillor Mike Parsons joined the party and had a tour of all the amazing facilities. He was joined by the team’s longest standing customer - Dimple Lakhani from Guildford – who had her first sight test in March 1996. Dimple still has her 2-year eye examinations at the store and received a ‘thank you’ bouquet of flowers from director, Andrew Lewis for her ongoing loyalty.
Fun for the town
Party frolics kicked off at 10am on Saturday 20th and ran until 5pm on Sunday 21st May. Customers, shoppers and local residents all enjoyed free entertainment, refreshments, cakes and a tombola. Guildford mini VIPs were catered for too with free face painting on the Saturday.
Fundraising for a great cause
To support the birthday celebrations, the team also fundraised over the two days for a charity close to their hearts: The Rainbow Trust Children' Charity and raised over £220.
Thank you for your ongoing loyalty
Store director Andrew Lewis says: ‘We are very proud of our 21 years’ heritage in Guildford and without the ongoing support of our customers, we wouldn't be here today.
He continues: 'Over the years, innovations and perceptions around glasses and hearing aids have changed considerably. Today, an eye test can tell us many things about a person besides vision loss. Our team has diagnosed high blood pressure to brain tumours and this is why we stress the importance of 2-year eye examinations.
Improvements in hearing have evolved at the same pace too, and many would be gob-smacked if they saw how small a hearing aid is these days.
I cannot wait to see what the next 21 years may bring!’
