Eyecare experts from Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush presented a borough school with a cheque for a three-figure sum, following a week-long fundraising drive.
Week-long fundraising drive for local children
The teams from Specsavers in Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush visited Lena Gardens Primary School to hand over the cash raised at a dedicated in-store kids fundraiser, complete with a fun day, raffle and lucky dip.
During the visit to the Hammersmith school, the optical specialists also took time to talk to more than 200 pupils about the importance of eye health in an interactive session.
Rebecca Burgess, store director of Specsavers in Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush, said: ‘It’s important to us that we support our local community and we’re proud that, with the assistance of residents, we have been able to support Lena Gardens as it continues to thrive.
‘We were warmly received at the school and our interactive eyecare session proved to be a hit with pupils, who were engaged and communicative throughout.’
