Guildford gives a wave
The Specsavers store in Guildford received a big pair of comedy frames to adorn its exterior this month and the team are hopeful it will raise greater awareness for Comic Relief in 2017.
Ongoing supporter of this great cause
Red Nose Day falls on Friday 24 March this year, and those wishing to make a difference in Guildford can purchase a pair of comedy waving hand glasses for just £2 to support the charity.
All money raised from the sale of 900 pair of specs at the Guildford store will be donated to Comic Relief.
Perfect for the whole family!
The good news is that the glasses come in both adult and children’s sizes. By simply parting with £2, Guildford residents can help Specsavers nationally pledge at least £250,000 for the charity.
A word from the director
Andrew Lewis, store director at Guildford says: 'Our Comic Relief activity is a really easy way for Surrey residents to make a big difference collectively to this amazing cause. For just £2, we can help vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa.'
He continues: ‘We are also challenging locals to join our giant Mexican wave on social media as well. Simply strike a pose with your glasses and post with the #GiveUsAWave to receive your very own wave back. We are optimistic that Guildford will be the best 'wavers' in the country!'
