Guide Dogs in the frame at Bromsgrove Opticians
Guide Dogs have gained £384 thanks to an awareness day held on Saturday (20 August).
The team at Specsavers on the High Street, Bromsgrove, was joined by charity representatives and their furry friends throughout the day, helping customers find out more about the charity and its work. Staff also served up an array of tasty treats, competitions and entertainment.
‘Our awareness day was a great success and we’re really proud to have raised so much money to support Guide Dogs’ ongoing work,’ said Mark Gibson, store director. ‘The charity does some fantastic work to support blind and partially sighted people right across the UK, as well as here in Bromsgrove, and it was lovely to be joined by local representatives and their guide dogs. We’d just like to say a big thank you to everybody who popped in on Saturday to show their support and make a donation.’
Working to provide mobility and freedom for blind and partially sighted people, Guide Dogs ensures people who lose their vision don’t lose their independence as well. The charity breeds more than 1,300 pups, creates hundreds of partnerships between guide dogs and their owners each year and delivers confidence building services to people of all ages with sight loss across the UK.
