Specsavers in Tonbridge has raised nearly £200 for Guide Dogs For The Blind by holding various activities in-store and having a visit from several furry friends.

Giant dog

The store hosted their own charity day with a visit from guide dog puppies, a bake sale and a giant dog sweeping the streets for donations.

£1 was donated for every sight test in-store and children were invited to have their faces painted. The store also held a Best Looking Dog giveaway where customers were invited to bring in photos of their dogs for a chance to win a doggy hamper filled with treats for their perfect pooch. The winner was Mr and Mrs Regis and their dog Lemon.

Tonbridge community generosity

Store director Angus Hathorn says: ‘We raised a total of £185 from the fundraising day.

‘We’re very grateful for the generosity from the Tonbridge community towards such a fantastic charity. We hope we have encouraged people to continue to support Guide Dogs.’
