Staff celebrate 18 years in Guildford with the Gruffalo

Children were invited to celebrate a very special birthday party at Specsavers in Guildford - where The Gruffalo made an appearance!

The birthday was to celebrate 18 years of service in the local Surrey community.

From Thursday 24 July to Friday 25 July, children were able to meet their favourite grizzly creature and store staff handed out party bags.

There was also a range of sweet treats to nibble on as the store held a bake sale on Thursday and Friday, which raised £209.51 for the charity Guide Dogs.

Giving something back to the community

Store director Mark Thompson says: ‘We’re so happy to have raised over £200 for Guide Dogs.'

‘The Gruffalo was on top form, greeting the children and putting a smile on everyone’s faces.

We felt it was important to make the most of our store’s 18th anniversary and we wanted to give something back to the community. It was great drawing in so much interest and we’re grateful to everyone who donated.’
