Specsavers in Kilmarnock completed tache-tacular fundraising throughout November as they raised £335 in aid of men’s health by growing a moustache for Movember.
For 30 days, the willing fundraisers at Specsavers Kilmarnock preened their upper lip in exchange for donations and sponsorship pledges – resulting in an impressive final total. Whether it was a subtle pencil, bold walrus or iconic handlebar style, the team did their best to grow their own moustache.
The money raised and donated to Movember will help fund ground-breaking research in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
Martin O’Neill, store director at Specsavers Kilmarnock, said: ‘This was a fun way to raise awareness and funds for a very worthy cause. It certainly encouraged healthy competition among the team for who could grow the most impressive one, and I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone that took part and to those who donated.’
