Ten team members from Grantham Specsavers are taking part in a charity challenge to raise money for Guide Dogs.
The Walk Your Socks Off challenge will see the team, from Specsavers in the Isaac Newton Centre, walking 100,000 steps in one week (3 May – 9 May) while raising money to support people living with sight loss.
Walking every day
Tunde Szabo, dispensing assistant, said: ‘I encouraged colleagues to get involved in the challenge. The Guide Dogs charity is such a worthy cause, and we’ve all got to know them over the years through our charity partnership.
‘For us as a team, this is also a brilliant opportunity to spend time together, we’re walking together every day after the store closes.’
Huge fundraising effort
Grantham Specsavers store director, Bijal Ladva, added: ‘It’s great to see the team getting together for another huge fundraising effort. We’re very proud of them and thankful for the support from our customers and the community.’
To donate, visit the team’s Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tunde-szabo or pop into the store.
