Grand fundraising ambition for 2017
The store is aiming to raise at least £3,000 for charity this year.
Staff will be holding a series of events throughout the next twelve months to encourage donations from the local community. We will also continue to donate £150 to a different charity each month as voted on by our customers.
Matt Stewart, store director, said: ‘The team are always thinking of ways to raise money for charity and have done a great job to ensure we collect as much money as possible. This year we’d really like to raise the bar to reach £3,000 in donations – or more.’
Football Team Sponsorship
The store recently sponsored a local youth football team. The son of Specsavers senior lab technician, Kevin Constant, is a member of the U13 Brickhill Wanderers’ Pumas, who received £1,000 for a full set of home kit, including raincoats, bags, bottles and balls.
Kevin said: ‘My son doesn’t stop talking about his football team so I knew they were looking for sponsorship. The store directors are always keen to support local initiatives and it seemed like an obvious connection to make. The boys tell me that they’re really pleased with the new kit.’
