Specsavers in Goole is offering locals with a chance to get their hands on a top-of-the-range mountain bike in anticipation of this summer’s major cycling event.

Staff at Specsavers on Boothferry Road will be selling raffle tickets in-store until w/c 30th June at just £1 per ticket, with all donations being collected for MacMillan Cancer Research.

Robert Winlow, store director at Goole Specsavers, explains: ‘The arrival of this summer’s cycling event has spurred a lot of people to get back in the saddle, which is why it’s the perfect time to remind people about the importance of being cycle ready.

Cyclists also need to get their eyes tested

‘I’m sure all cyclists know the importance of conducting a spot check on their bike before they set off, but I’m not convinced they’d naturally consider the last time they had their hearing or eyes tested. It’s vitally important that cyclists are fully alert, both visually and from an audio point of view, to be able to deal with the dangers that present themselves while cycling.

‘We’ve chosen to specifically raffle off a mountain bike in order to encourage more locals to get on their bikes! We’ll be selling raffle tickets up until the first week of July.’

To support Goole Specsavers raise money for MacMillan, simply make a donation in the store, on Boothferry Road.
