Bolton and Middlebrook's winning teams have gone the extra mile to support this year’s Bolton Active Sport Awards by donating a £150 eyecare voucher to the event’s fundraising raffle.

The popular annual community event, organised by Bolton Council, rewards athletes, volunteers or teams who have excelled in their sport or done a lot within the Bolton community.

It is attended by more than 500 people, and this year’s guests include former Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies and Bolton FM’s Matt Holden, host of the evening at the Macron Stadium.

Active in the community

The £150 Specsavers voucher is being auctioned off with all proceeds going to Bolton charities such as the Bolton Hospice, the Bolton YMCA, Bolton Carers and Crossroads Care Bolton.

Bolton store manager Robert Ogg, said: ‘It’s an honour to be able to support the Bolton Active Sport Awards this year.’

‘Last year’s charity raffle was a great success, and with the help of the Specsavers teams, this year will once go a long way to support some worthy causes in Bolton’

‘The night is a huge event for the community and it’s fantastic that we’ve been able to play our part.’
