Members of the team from Croydon have become part of the first group of Specsavers staff to achieve Gold Training Status.
The graduate training course aims to provide in-store trainers with the necessary knowledge to identify and deliver enhanced professional development opportunities to members of staff.
The gold standard is the 4th level of the training pathway and Specsavers Croydon store director, Bill Pennell, and Learning & Development manager, Jas Kalsi are expecting to complete the platinum level early next year.
Jas Kalsi, said: 'As a trainer, it is important to have a confident team that are comfortable within their work space and this inevitably leads to an enhanced store atmosphere with excellent standards of customer service.
‘I’m extremely pleased with how much emphasis Bill places on people development.'
Investing in staff
Bill Pennell, who, in taking the course has become the first UK retail director to qualify, said: ‘We take the professional development of our team incredibly seriously because we want to ensure they all feel valued within the job role.
'In Croydon we really do invest in our people and it has been instrumental in helping us identify the specific areas in which our team needs additional training, in order to better themselves in store.'
